2 Ways to Watch Youtube Videos Not Available in Your Country

YouTube is one of my favorite time spending websites, which I enjoy a lot. Apart from some video tutorials on various items like cooking and working out, it also keeps me updated on some of the video highlights of a game and listen to songs of new movies. But whenever I come across some message preventing the playback of a video, it feels very irritated.

Recently I came across this message that “The Uploader has not made this video available in your Country”. This was very displeasing and I even tried to change my country from the Youtube settings but even it didn’t solve the issue.

Let’s see why this happens. The reason for this message is not because of any copyright violation but simply because that the uploader of the video has made the video restricted and can be only viewed by users who fall in that country’s IP range. So if your computer has an IP address that is outside the country’s IP, you might see this message.

So for people like me who are travelling to different places but want to see the videos of their own country, it might be really irritating. So here are a couple of simple steps that might work for you:

1. Editing the Video URL: This is a simple way that might work for you and might not, however worth a try. Try changing the URL of the youtube video as mentioned here.
Replacing the /watch?v= with /v/. For example, a general youtube URL is like http://www.youtube/com/watch?v=zxcvbnm/, so just edit to look like http://www.youtube.com/v/zxcvbnm/

2. Preventing your IP from getting detected: Try using some Proxy websites like hidemyass.com, and paste the youtube URL in the box to open the page. This will hide your IP address and might not get detected in the video settings.

Try out the steps and let me know which one worked for you.
