The process of applying themes to your Gmail account started back in 2008. Basically, by applying themes you can personalize and can give a trendy look to your Gmail account. It even helps you to differentiate between your Gmail accounts because almost all of us want to keep our professional and personal life apart and thus we create different mail accounts.
Previously in November, Gmail revealed its new look and introduced various new, beautiful HD themes but some of the users wanted to assign their own themes to their inbox which will give a personal and comfortable feel to them while using Gmail.
So finally to fulfill the wishes of those users, Google is introducing a section that is termed as ‘New custom themes’, which will be integrated with two options, Light and Dark where you will be able to set your own themes as your inbox background. We suggest you to watch the below video to learn more about it and how useful it can be to apply personal themes.
For applying your own theme, you can select images from your Google+ account or from any URL to upload onto your Gmail account. Moreover if you could not find the preferred image then you can visit the Gmail’s featured photo section where you can find an image that will describe you properly. Now you might be thinking that it will involve a lot of time to search from a wide variety of photos available in the section, so don’t worry you can try searching for ‘HDR scenery’ or ‘Bokeh wallpaper‘ in the Featured tab which are actually very good.
Overall this is really a very good initiative taken by Google that allows you to customize your own Gmail account in your own way. So find some image that suits you to customize your Gmail account and get started.
