In the latest version of android that is Ice Cream Sandwich and iPhone OS, the highlighting feature that I have come across is App Folders. It helps you to create rearrange able folders by dragging apps and contacts on top of each other. This helps the users to group apps and contacts in a common folder on the home screen.
It helps you to find your applications smoothly as on a Smartphone there are always dozen of applications installed which adds more and more pages in your menu. So now the question is how to get Ice Cream Sandwich like App Folder in older versions of android?
So if you want to have Ice Cream Sandwich like App folder on your older Android version, you are required to install an Ice Cream Sandwich launcher app. However one can find lots of Ice Cream Sandwich launchers in Google play store, but in my view Holo Launcher is one such application that can bring many Ice Cream Sandwich flavors to older android phone including the App Folder feature.
Once you install the application, you will be able to configure the application from its settings menu. After this when you want to group applications, you have to drag app on top of each other and the apps will automatically get organized in the same folder. If you want to rename the application, you can do so by tapping on it.
Anyhow if you don’t like installing such launchers you can also look for some apps that are specially designed to group apps as in Ice Cream Sandwich. For instance you can use the App Folder app that allows you to create folders like iPhone. The Holo Launcher is a great application to customize your home screen. It works on android 2.2 and above.
