It often happens with all of us that while using our desktops we need to hide some windows opened from the other users or some confidential data from others. Say you are chatting with your friends instead of working on a project assigned to you, then you need to quickly hide the chat window (to hide from your parents and others), isn’t it?
Though there are many windows hiding tool that you can make use of but UltraHide surely needs to be discussed here. This is a very useful application that allows you to hide any window with a hotkey and also lets you password protect that hidden window so that anyone who wish to spy on you, needs to enter the set password to unlock it.
To start using this tool, launch the application and set a custom password with which you will be able to unlock your hidden windows immediately. When you will launch the app, you will find that by default the set password is 123. Anyhow if you don’t want to password protect your windows, you can leave the password field blank. Once done, hit “Hide UltraHide to the Tray”.
Now go to any of the window that you want to hide and use Alt +Ctrl +Spacebar, the application will send the window to the system tray. When you want to reopen it, double click on the window seated in the system tray and it will prompt you to enter the password.
As soon as you enter your password, the window becomes active. By default Alt +Ctrl +Spacebar is the only hot key and you can’t even set your own custom combination as well but that is not a big issue I hope. The reason why I liked this tool is that you don’t have to hide screen, minimize all the opened windows or turn off the monitor, just hide that program which is private.
