When for the first time I tried to sign up for Hotmail service, I have added a custom E-mail which is actually used for authentication process. But the result of adding a third party E-mail address is that you won’t get a “real” hotmail address. With incorporating many efforts I was only able to create Hotmail aliases, and was unable to cherish the actual features of a real Hotmail Account.
So I went through many WebPages and also the pages of the layout of the service, so that I may get some clue to solve such issue. Finally after hours of surfing I have come across an option that helps in creating a new Hotmail email address from within an existing account. So today I am going to share the method of creating a new E-mail address with the service.
Firstly, go to the main interface page of Hotmail and sign in to your account. You will be greeted by the inbox and the FrontPage of the account. Now check out for the ‘Options’ button in the top right corner and select the more options link from the context menu. This will lead you to the control panel of your account. Here you will be able to configure most of the account related settings.
Go to the Account details under Managing Your Account. You may be asked to enter your password again for the privacy purpose. Now you will find ‘your email addresses’ option that will open up a page showing you all the E-mail addresses and aliases that are linked to your account. Further you will see an option to create a new Hotmail or Windows Live account, or to link a third party account to the Hotmail account.
Here you can add any desired username that will be your Hotmail account name and can choose the domain that you want to have with your account name. You can either have hotmail.com or live.com account. The new E-mail address will be immediately linked to your account and will become active instantly.
