It feels very uncomfortable when we have many windows open and to scroll a window which is not in focus we have to click on it before being able to scroll it with the mouse wheel.
To overcome this problem I came across a tool called WizMouse that enables us to scroll a window up and down using the mouse scroll wheel even if it is not the currently active window. The tool is free and simple to use and can be configured according to the use.
WizMouse is a mouse enhancement utility that makes your mouse wheel work on the window currently under the mouse pointer, instead of the currently focused window. This means you no longer have to click on a window before being able to scroll it with the mouse wheel. This is a far more comfortable and practical way to make use of the mouse wheel.
Moreover this tool enables the mouse scroll even on the windows which do not support the mouse scroll by mapping the mouse wheel commands into scroll bar commands that all applications can understand and process.
