This is the problem of most of the Windows 7 users that the desktop gadgets don’t display properly. Even some of my gadgets also showed problems once a while like the calendar showed without any dates.
If you have also seen some problems like this then here are the few solutions that can help you.

Solution 1:

To have Microsoft change the registry value for Value data in Zones subkey to 0 for you, so as to fix this problem automatically, download and apply Microsoft Fix it 50617.

To have Microsoft to delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones for you, so as to fix this problem automatically, download and apply Microsoft Fix it 50618.

Solution 2:

Registering the dll files of the gadgets

Open the command prompt by typing the cmd in the Run box. Type the following commands and press enter

regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

Restart the system and it may fix your problem.

Solution 3:

Deleting the Zone setting from registry

Run the registry editor and navigate to the following location

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

You need to delete the Zones key at this location. Restart the system.
