[Solved] has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP

One of our readers was facing this problem that when connecting the pen drive Windows came up with this error message that “The software you are installing for this hardware: “name” has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP

This message can be easily disabled as this is the message that Windows sends as a confirmation from the user. Thus to be able to install the hardware or the software you just need to overcome this error message and the Windows would continue as usual.

Method 1:

1.    Right click on My Computer and click on Properties.
2.    Go to Hardware tab, and under Drivers select Driver Signing.

3.    Click the option of “Ignore – Install the software anyway and don’t ask for my approval”

Method 2:

Another trick is to connect your hardware and when you come across this error message, go to Task Manager. Search for the related process running and kill it. Terminating the process would overcome the error and the installation would continue as usual.

Hope the solutions work for you.

  1. I am facing this problem on my laptop. You may be a victim of software counterfeighting and window turned black. So please help to reove this.
    Thanks

  2. That’s fine, except that my computer was already set the way you say will allow the installation, but it didn’t. So what do I do now? Is there some place not dealing with hardware that has the same kind of settings? Something in Windows XP Pro sp3 is keeping me from installing Ashampoo’s Snap 3 which I would love to be able to use, but I can’t because of this.

  3. i have tried both of these methods and its not working for me
i am just trying to download software for an xbox 360 controller to use on the pc
