VLC Beta now Officially Available for Android

Android is one of the most used OS in Smartphones today. This OS is just like a minicomputer in your pockets (the reason why they are called smart :P). The only application that I missed much on it was the VLC. Though in early march of this year, some users have got it installed on their devices, but it was from unofficial port.

But now finally the time has come, when a beta version of VLC is available for android users, that too officially. The user interface is especially designed according to the mobile devices and it also includes a widget that can be used for app-specific audio control.

It also includes a feature to browse files via folder browser, which will make it easier for users to find and play files. As you all know that VLC is well known for its compatibility with all file formats, you will find the same feature in this app as well. This means that whatever format of movie you have on your phone, be sure that it will be played.

Though in the description it is mentioned that it will play “most local video and audio files, as well as network streams” but don’t worry you will get all the features that of the desktop client. However when it comes to the compatibility of hardware, then the company has made it limited. Only devices running an ARMv7 with NEON support can use this app.

This limitation will soon be terminated with new versions and releases. VLC was previously available from XDA developers, from where most of the users have already experienced this app but if you are not one of them, then you can get it from the link below.
